Are you trying to learn more about keyword research? Or are you looking for extra tips on conducting keyword research? If the answer is yes for either of those questions then you’re gonna want to stick around.
I remember back when I got my start online and was met the topic of keyword research I was very confused. In the event that’s you then I’m here to help you understand what keyword research is, what it entails and what is the best way to conduct it.
This isn’t going to be an exact process that you have to follow, but it is one that is tried and true and guaranteed to get you the results you’re looking for.
Now ready to learn? Ok..
Now What Is Keyword Research?
This is simply known as the process of looking up keywords that you could create content for. Keyword research is important to firstly give you content ideas. This research also aids you in being able to create content that ranks better in search engines which in case you didn’t know leads to more website traffic which, of course, is the ultimate goal. So as you can see conducting this research before creating content is an essential step to success.
What Does It Entail?
Keyword research involves you using a keyword research tool or otherwise to find these keywords. You then evaluate the traffic these keywords receive on a regular basis. Next, you then evaluate your competition in search engines i.e the amount of pages already using this keyword. Ideally you want to find a keyword that has a high amount of traffic and a low amount of competition. This would allow you to receive high rankings and, therefore, receive the high traffic that makes a website successful .
What Is The Best Way To Conduct This Research?
Good now that we’ve passed all the background and introduction we get to the good stuff which is the actual execution of keyword research.
Firstly, I’ll be demonstrating this process using Jaaxy which is the best keyword tool around in my opinion. This is the most accurate and advanced keyword tool I’ve ever seen or used and trust me I’ve used a lot of them. There are many out there which give inaccurate information as well as limited information as in they only generate keywords for one search engine or may also limit the keywords to one country at a time which can create a cumbersome process.
Now let’s say for instance you are in the niche of weight loss and you had the intention of creating content about 5 foods that help you lose weight. You’d go into Jaaxy and search 5 foods that help you lose weight and see the results.
As you can see there are many results you get from that search term. Since it was such a specific search term so there wouldn’t be too many variations as if you were to search say lose weight which would more than likely be high traffic keywords but with high competition as well so you wouldn’t use something like that.
So from this you can see that the term we searched receives an average of 56 searches per month and 50 QSR(Quoted Search Results) which is a pretty good keyword, not the best but it is pretty good. These types of keywords are referred to as “low hanging fruit” which is the types of keywords you generally want to target.
Now in case you are a beginner you may be wondering what to do now when you’ve selected the right keyword. This the is part where we tie it into our content creation. If we were creating a post we would title the post after the keyword and try to naturally repeat it again in the first paragraph.
Simpler than you thought it was I bet. In the event that it wasn’t feel free to leave me a question in the comments below and if you have any feedback about anything you’ve read feel free to leave a comment as well. I wish you the best of luck with all your keyword research.
