Avoiding Internet Scams
There are many ways to earn money at home online but sadly the people who want to learn how to do this usually come across scams that supposedly help you to do this and these scams then take advantage of people who don’t know how it works yet and then get them to pay unnecessary money.
So I want to help you people out there trying to make money online at home either full time or part time so I’m gonna teach you about ways you can be avoiding internet scams. It’s my goal in this post to show you how to spot work at home scams easily.
Tips To Spot Out These Scams
I’ll be covering 5 things that will help you be able to spot these scams easily. These tips will give you insight on the things to pay close attention to before you become involved in the program. Just promise me you will read this tips carefully and apply them to be able to stay scam free.
Tip 1: The Getting Started Cost
This is the first thing I tend to look for when considering if to join the program or not. The price of it tells me alot about its legitimacy and whether or not I should investigate further. The first deterring factor for me is if they ask you to pay a membership fee to join without allowing you to try anything and see if the program is right for you or even legitimate. This presents a risk that most of the time isn’t worth taking. What kind of job asks you to pay before you get started? Not any kind that I want, that’s for sure.
I’ll take this time to point out this is where most of the scams out there offer you a money back guarantee that you may think is good but don’t be fooled they normally offer this with a catch. Seeing a money back guarantee does not mean legitimate at all. Let me tell you why…
These so called “opportunities” usually have hidden requirements attached to these money back guarantees that are truly ridiculous. They can range from you having to use the program for a specific number of days usually which is not time enough for you to able to tell if the program is legitimate or even lives up to it’s claims of how it should work. The point you try to request a refund you typically have a few weeks ahead of jumping through hoop after hoop in hopes to get back YOUR money even if you even manage to get it back at all. How criminal!
Tip 2: When A Program Claims What Your Income Can/Will Be
This is the one that makes me laugh usually. They try to entice people into joining their program by making these wild claims over how much money you can be making with and how soon. This tactic is funny for me to think they want people to believe this is possible but sad for the fact that more often than not they work which is why I want to help you avoid them at all costs, well in this case without cost!
The only way someone can make this “prediction” for you is if they are paying you a salary. That is the only way they can make a claim such as this. How much money you make in most things online usually is dependent upon the work you put into your endeavor. This meaning you earned based on how hard you work and how much you work. All dependent on YOU.
Tip 3: The Amount Of Upsells
The amount of upsells the work at home opportunity offers is another way to determine what the opportunity is really about. If the program goes above two upsells then this maybe shows that the program is more about putting money into the pockets of the owners and less about helping you make money. Most of the legitimate work home based business opportunities may offer a basic plan and then an upgraded premium plan which is fine but from the moment they offer many more beyond this then chances are you should stay far away from the program.
You can check out my review of a scam I did recently known as My Online Business Empire which offers so many upsells and not only is the amount of upsells incredibly high but so is the price of them. The program is absolutely criminal and a good example of a program you should want nothing to do with. Check out the review and see for yourself.
Tip 4: The Way They Present Their Opportunity
This is a technique that you should really remain cautious of when visiting the website of a scam. If you visit their website and see pictures of high check payouts, stacks of cash, high Paypal deposits, big houses, expensive cars, enticing locations where people seem to be enjoying themselves this is a sign that the program is a scam. The pictures are meant to make you want to be part of whatever they are offering, trying to convince you can be part of the dream they are selling (ironically becomes a nightmare very fast).
They take advantage of your desire to have a lot of money from not doing much, essentially an easy life. Most people on the planet want this and they know that which is why they completely take advantage of it and use it to try to trick you into joining. The simple reality is no one becomes rich like that without putting in the hard work needed unless of course they become lucky enough to win the lottery.
Tip 5: The Hidden Information
This one is often the most overlooked and probably unknown way to spot online scams out. There are thankfully laws from the government that requires companies that sell their services online to follow some rules and regulations. These include websites having to be honest with what they claim. This means that the scams have to somewhere on their website allow people to know how much you can truly be making through their service. This is where you can find out the truth behind the service and know if what they claim is actually the truth.
I have seen for myself these sections exposing that all the scams that make these claims of making all this money is a big scam. An example is with the same My Online Business Empire. In their fine print, the owner himself had stated that “Less than 1% of all participants will earn sufficient income…”. I was mindblown by how much of scam it really was because of this. If you read the review you would see the crazy prices of this service and to hear him say that really put things into perspective.
Get To Know The Other Side
I want to briefly talk about the other side of this, the legitimate opportunities. When in contact with a legitimate opportunity they usually tend to offer a trial for their service, don’t try to make accurate claims on your income as they know that it all depends on you, the upsells range from 0 to 2 and do not exceed this since they actually care about helping you, they don’t sell false hope and dreams and only recommend you put in hard work and finally you wouldn’t have any need to look for hidden information but if you do you would find nothing that contradicts what you see on the main page of the website. An example of a such program is Wealthy Affiliate which you can check out my review of here.
